Raphael, this is an incorrect statement, HaRav Avraham Yitzchak HaCohen Kook lived from 1865–1935, the State of Israel was established in 1948, so it is impossible for Rav Kook to have been, as you write, “the first Chief Rabbi of the Zionist State…”

I think it is important for you to make a public apology on this web page, for spreading false claims about HaRav Kook and talmidei chachamim.

Very beautiful and moving post. Thanks for this very important website and blog. I was just curious about the Kook posting, some of my more modern friends (if you can call them that), have told me things like “(R) Kook’s haskamos appear in Rav Shlomo Zalman Auerbach’s seforim”, “(R) Kook was Rav Elyashiv’s mesader kiddushin”, and that the holy “Chazon Ish was recommended in a letter to be accepted to be a Rov in Eretz Yisrael from HaGaon R’ Chaim Ozer directly to (R) Kook.” (in the last case, they even showed me what is supposed to be this letter!). Whats pshat? How do i answer them to these claims?
